If you require travel vaccinations please visit the surgery between 6-12 weeks of travelling and collect a travel questionnaire form per traveller. Once completed please bring this back in to the surgery and allow at least 7 working days for the nursing team to check what travel vaccinations you may required. Your travel information should be ready for collection at least 7 working days from the day you handed the forms in to the surgery and you would need to have collected this information prior to booking a travel appointment with a practice nurse.
It is also your responsibility to have read the information prior to your travel appointment with the practice nurse - the nurse will not go through all of the information paperwork at the appointment.
Travel vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.
We only provide NHS-only vaccinations. Our local Yellow Fever centre is Hedge End Medical Centre and for non-NHS travel vaccinations you would need to attend a private travel clinic.
If you are travelling within 6 weeks, unable to attend one of our clinics, or we have no travel clinic appointments available at a clinically safe time prior to you travelling, you will be advised to contact an external travel clinic centre. There are 2 private travel clinics in Southampton:
- Southampton Travel Clinic, 79 Bedford Place, Southampton - Tel. 02380 631922
- STA Travel, 6 Civic Centre Road, Southampton - Tel. 0871 702 9846
- Global Express Travel, Lowford Clinic, Hamble Lodge, 20 Hamble Lane, Bursledon - Tel. 02380 405335
